Our 8 week summer swim program is an excellent opportunity for kids to experience a club swimming atmosphere. If your child is looking to take their swimming to the next level this program is a great way for them to further their technical skills and build fitness. If your child is already involved with competitive swimming, this program is a great way for them to maintain endurance, speed and form through the summer months.
All training sessions will take place at the Port Dalhousie outdoor pool located at 205 Main St, St. Catharines, ON L2N 4V9.
Practices are available 5 mornings per week (Monday to Friday) from 8:45-9:45am and 4 evenings per week (Monday to Thursday) from 5:30-6:30pm.
The minimum program requirement for all swimmers is 2 hours of training time per week. Please self select how many hours per week your child will sign up for based on the recommendations below:
2-3hrs per week
Novice level swimmers who meet the prerequisite and learning to develop competency in all four strokes.
3-4hrs per week
Intro to competitive swimmers who display competency in all four strokes with 1-3 years of experience in our program or an equivalent program.
4-5hrs per week
Competitive swimmers.
Prerequisite - In order to take part in our program we ask that all swimmers are able to complete one length of the pool (25m) without stopping and without grabbing onto lane ropes or side walls, particularly in the deep end. Ideally, swimmers are able to complete multiple lengths. If participants are unable to complete multiple lengths we would require them to use fins to start the program. Fins are a recommended piece of equipment for all of our swimmers, regardless of ability level, for many of the skills/drills that our coaches prescribe.
* The SUMMER program is now FULL. Please email us at info@edgesport.ca with any questions.

Competitive swimmers planning to attend meets.
Please note, all registered swimmers will undergo an assessment facilitated by one of our coaches in week 1 of the program to determine which group/lane is best suited for their current ability level. These assignments are not permanent. A swimmer can move lanes depending on their progression. Our goal is to make sure each swimmer is training in the proper environment for their own unique development.
All swimmers should arrive on deck with a proper swimsuit and goggles. Swim caps are optional.
Kickboards and pull buoys are available for use at Kiwanis and Boys & Girls club.
Other optional equipment items include fins, snorkels and paddles.
If you have any questions or require assistance with equipment items please email us at info@edgesport.ca
My daughter loves swimming with Edge Sport! She looks forward to her practices and wanted to add more practice days in for this season. The coaches have been great and any time I email in a question they respond right away. They really care about the athletes and strive to make improvements at every practice. I feel so lucky to have found Edge Sport.
