Our goal is to get as many kids active in the Niagara region as possible. If we can get kids off screens & devices for 1 hour per week and get them moving, it can have a significant impact on their physical and mental health. Research also suggests that people who exercise regularly typically do better on cognitive tests compared to people who are sedentary. Getting kids fit and smarter!
We recognize that not all kids are drawn to sport and competition or have the motivation to take part in formal training programs that we traditionally offer, but we believe there's still a way to build fitness in a fun and engaging way.
Sessions include a mix of walking, jogging, running and even sprinting! We use equipment items like tennis balls, soccer balls and frisbees to sharpen hand-eye coordination and focus. We often incorporate fun relay races and games where we break into small teams and engage in some friendly competition. A good old-fashioned tug of war is a favourite!
This program is ideal for elementary school aged kids from JK to grade 8, younger athletes that aren't quite ready for formal run training or kids that just need to get off the couch and get moving!
This program runs multiple times per year. From April to October sessions run outdoors. From November to March sessions are indoors.
* FALL indoor registration is NOW OPEN
If your child is interested in a more formal training program please check out our Track & Cross Country and Speed & Agility programs.

With supportive coaches and great teammates you always feel comfortable and cared for at Edge. Whether it's a swim, bike or run I always feel proud of the work I put in. My performance in running also changed dramatically. I went from zero running to competing at OFSAA in three months. The training is challenging and planned out really well. You can truly find your edge.
No experience is required to get started. This is an excellent program for active kids aged 7-17 with an interest in triathlon, cross-country running and track & field. This program is also beneficial to young athletes looking for cross training opportunities to complement their other competitive sports and recreational activities. 1 Session Per Week*
