Many kids complete swimming lessons or basic water safety programs, but still don't have the skills required to swim lengths and start training. Whether your child has an interest in pursuing competitive swimming or simply training for fitness, our coaches help bridge the gap and give them the confidence they need to start swimming lengths.
Our coaches are prepared to enter the water with participants to offer hands-on guidance and support. We place a strong emphasis on freestyle (front crawl) stroke and skills development. The primary goal of the program is to progress all participants to the point of completing one length of the pool (25m) without stopping. In most cases, by the completion of the program, most swimmers are able to complete multiple lengths and are ready to graduate into our Youth Swimming program.
This program runs multiple times per year in 7-8 week blocks at the Boys & Girls Club facility (BGC) in Niagara Falls. Sessions are available 2 days per week (Mon and Tues) from 6:30-7:30pm. Pricing is based on the number of hours per week a child swims as follows:
1 hour per week - $160.00 + HST (8 weeks)
2 hours per week - $300.00 + HST (8 weeks)

In order to take part in our program we ask that all swimmers are comfortable treading water and have basic water safety skills. Ideally participants have completed traditional swimming lessons and/or display confidence being in the water with limited assistance.

All swimmers should arrive on deck with a proper swimsuit and goggles. Swim caps are optional.
Fins (flippers) are required for all Learn to Swim participants.
All other equipment items are available for use at Boys & Girls club.

My daughter loves swimming with Edge Sport! She looks forward to her practices and wanted to add more practice days in for this season. EDGE Swimming programs are focused on teaching kids the fundamental components needed to pursue competitive swimming. Our programs place a strong emphasis on stroke and skills development, aerobic fitness and speed training. Our coaches also work diligently with our swimmers on the mental skills required for competition. Our 8 week summer swim program is a great opportunity for kids to experience a club swimming atmosphere. If your child is looking to take their swimming to the next level this program is a great way for them to further their technical skills in all 4 strokes and build fitness. If your child is already involved with competitive swimming, this program is an excellent opportunity to maintain endurance, speed and form through the summer months.
